So far, Mathol Racing has been well known for its participation with race cars of the make Honda. And in 2009, the team will continue to enter two S2000 and five Honda Civic Type R in the endurance racing championship and at the 24 Hour Race at the Nürburgring. The racing team will then, however, complete its fleet by GT4 race cars as they have acquired two Aston Martin Vantage V8 4.7 GT4 to race in the season 2010.
“We do not at all turn our back on Honda but we want to broaden our involvement”, commented team manager Matthias Holle this step. In addition to the popular series at the Nordschleife, the two race cars with 445 HP respectively are to compete also in national GT4 series and in the FIA GT4 European Championship. “The Aston Martin is a sophisticated race car with which you are able to compete in the leading group without any problems”, said Matthias Holle who is really happy about the two cars with which the team does not only wish to dominate the classes in the race series but to also enter the top 20 overall.
There is already a high demand on the part of the drivers. “One car is already contracted”, reveals Holle. Nonetheless, the team manager is still searching for the perfect crew for the second Aston Martin. “We have to wait and see now the development during the weeks to come.” Anybody interested may directly contact the team of Mathol Racing. The decision on who will be behind the steering wheel of the second Aston Martin will then be taken during the winter break.
