Uwe Alzen and Dirk Adorf will support the BMW works team at their participations at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This was announced by BMW Motor Sport Director Dr. Mario Theisen on Saturday evening during the BMW Sports Cup Prizegiving which took place in Munich.
The two experts of the Nordschleife will complete the team of BMW works driver Jörg Müller and of the new team member Dirk Werner, who compete in Europe in the new BMW M3 GT2, in the preparation to the 24h Race at the Nürburgring. In addition to the participation at the Nordschleife, BMW has more 24h races in Europe on the calendar: The GT race car is scheduled to be entered for the races at Le Mans and at Spa-Franchorchamps, too. For these races, the aforementioned drivers will be completed by works drivers Andy Priaulx, Augusto Farfus and Dirk Müller.
Apart from the GT2 works participation, BMW is also planning the development of a GT3 sports car based on the Z4 for customers.
