It looks as if the seventh round of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring will see an illustrious starting grid. Six weeks after the highlight of the season, there is a continuous interest in the most popular racing series of Europe. The organising Rheydter Club für Motorsport expects more than 180 teams to take the start on 29th of August at the 24.369 kilometres long circuit which combines the Nürburgring short connection with the Nordschleife. As usual, quality will hereby in no way be inferior to quantity. The spectators may look forward to an exciting 4 hour race which, as an exception, will start at 01:00 p.m. this time. In the break between practice and race, a number of spectacular road cars will entertain the public on occasion of the Rudolf Carraciola commemorative trip 2009.

After its 80 years of history, the Nürburgring Nordschleife still represents an ongoing attraction which fascinates almost all race drivers. The DTM shooting star Oliver Jarvis will celebrate his racing premiere at the “green hell” on occasion of the 32nd RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen. The British race driver competes in the DTM for the Audi Team Phoenix and has drawn attraction to himself with two positions on the podium in the current season. The 25 years old driver now wishes to gain some experience at the Nordschleife, just out of curiosity, and to recommend himself for further participations. Jarvis will start in the Audi R8 LMS together with Dennis Rosteck (Porta Westfalica) and Nicki Thiim (Rinteln), the son of the popular touring car star Kurt Thiim. The sister car which has already scored one victory in the current season will be driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck (Austria), Frank Biela (Monaco) and Frank Stippler (Bad Münstereifel) at the Grenzlandrennen.

Two famous teams will celebrate a comeback at this seventh round of the season. The Zakspeed-Racing team from Niederzissen hereby certainly has a home field advantage and it has entered Sascha Bert (Ober-Ramstadt) and Marc Anton Bronzel (Großensee) in a flame red Dodge Viper in class GT3. The Lexus works team from Japan on the other hand will be arriving from further away, they will compete in the spectacular Lexus IS F with its unique sound and with drivers Peter Lyon, journalist from Australia, and Matusuda Hidashi from Japan.

Bursting with confidence, the two Porsche works drivers Marc Lieb (Ludwigsburg) and Richard Lietz (Austria) will start the race after they have won their class GT2 at the legendary 1000km Race at the Nürburgring on the weekend before the Grenzlandrennen. Even though they both start for the team Manthey-Racing, they are now rivals. Lieb competes in the race together with Marcel Tieman (Monaco) and Arno Klasen (Karlshausen) in a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the class of VLN Specials up to 4.000 cc cubic capacity. Lietz shares the cockpit of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in class KT3 with Armin Hahne (Monaco) and Jochen Krumbach (Eschweiler).

The new bio project of the team Four Motors around Smudo, front man of the hip-hop-combo “Die fantastischen Vier”, has received a lot of praise in advance. After the nice Renault Mégane Trophy running on bio diesel has previously experienced some technical problems, it shall now finally have its first race participation at the Grenzlandrennen. The team has submitted the entry as they are confident to get the car ready to race on all four wheels. The crew will work day and night to achieve this target which they have been so eagerly waiting for – and with a little bit of luck, Smudo, Tom von Löwis (Reutlingen) and Michael Irmgartz (Neuwied) will then be on the grid on Saturday at exactly 01:00 p.m.

Four rollers or four wheels – „Acceleration is my philosophy of life “
He used to be a legend on four rollers, in motor sports, he is just a sympathetic gentleman driver. This refers to Titus Dittmann, the father of the German skateboard scenery. The businessman from Münster this year celebrates the 30th anniversary of his company. After the 24 Hour Race, his participation in the Grenzlandrennen together with his son Julius is his second race at the Nordschleife this year. The team of father and son Dittmann is completed by Dag von Garrel in the BMW 318 iS entered in the class of VLN production cars up to 1.800 cc cubic capacity.
