With a clear advance at their fourth race victory, Dupré / Nett regained the lead in the tv14 Honda Civic Cup classification, now with a narrow advance ahead of Totz / Kreuer and the VLN-Honda Junior Team. At the moment when the race was stopped, Nägele / Nägele / Scheerbarth were into second position with a gap of only three tenth of a second head of Totz / Kreuer.
The practice session started with a delay due to heavy fog and with a lap time of 9:59 minutes Dupré / Nett set fastest time ahead of Totz / Kreuer with 10:00 minutes and the junior team of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences who set a time of 10:03 minutes. The TRW ladies team Schmid / Müllenmeister (10:11) finished just ahead of Kuhlmann / Unteroberdörster who rejoined the Cup (10:12) this weekend and the drivers of the Mathol team Schicht / Dr. Schäfer (10:29).
As already several times in the current season, there was an exciting battle between Dupré / Nett and Nägele / Nägele / Scheerbarth in the first laps. The Junior team had gained an advantage of eight seconds until the first pit stop. In this phase, Totz / Kreuer lost much time due to extremely slow competitors under yellow flags.
Misfirings then forced the Cologne University team to advance their scheduled pit stop but the fuel pump was occupied by the Ford GT of Adorf / Tilke. They lost a lot of time and after rejoining the race, their direct competitors suddenly were Totz / Kreuer whilst Dupré / Nett enjoyed an advance of one and a half minutes and with 9:58.566 minutes the fastest lap time of the race; with 9:58.578 minutes, the juniors’ fastest lap time was nearly as good.
After having taken a long break in the Cup, Kuhlmann / Unteroberdörster showed happy with position four and will try to catch up with the top teams in the next rounds. This time sport-auto journalist Anja Wassertheurer was missing in the ladies’ team due to the Tuner GPs taking place at the same time at the circuit of Hockenheim; Schmidt / Müllenmeister lost much time due to a wrong interpretation of a pit signal. Dr. Schäfer / Schicht damaged their rear axle early in the race which could be repaired by the Mathol-Racing-Team but they lost four laps as a consequence.
Geulen / Schmidt won class SP4 in their race & event-S2000 whilst Dupré / Jahn achieved seventh position in the class with their reliable Accord Type-R and moved up into second championship position. After a strong performance, Bermes / Weber had to stop due to cooling problems. Nawotna / Grundmann and Svepes / Schlesack retired with technical problems.
