17th June – On occasion of the forward2business-ThinkTanks future-congress at Halle (Saale), the biggest visionaries of the past twelve months were honoured. The competition about the highly desired “Visions for Leadership” award was won by rapper and eco-race driver Smudo, Hollywood Blockbuster designer Dale Herigstad and the fashion chain New Yorker.
The award for the most innovative rule breaker during the past 12 months is granted to Smudo, together with Four Motors Director Thomas von Löwis. They jointly developed a race car strictly prepared following ecological principles, the bodywork of which consists of natural material instead of plastics and which runs on bio diesel. Dale Herigstad who became famous as designer in the film set “Minority Report” with Tom Cruise receives the prize for the most innovative technological development in the last year, in particular regarding the revolutionary computer control systems designed by him. New Yorker is the Visions for Leadership prize winner for its innovative business model to show the industry how innovative future business models look like.
The “Visions for Leadership” awards traditionally are granted to those visionaries of a digital reorganisation in economy whose innovative business models of the past twelve months have essentially changed the development of the line of business. Previous prize winners of the awards granted by the forward2business future-congress are world stars Peter Gabriel, Moby, Lily Allan, Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the front man of the band „Einstürzenden Neubauten“ Blixa Bargeld, the company Skype, the ZDF, the top manager Tim Renner (Universal Music) and Ulrich Scheele (Entertainment Media Verlag), MP3 inventor Prof. Dr. Karlheinz Brandenburg, the father of the „Voice over IP“ Technology Prof. Dr. Henning Schulzrinne, SecondLife-inventor Philip Rosedale as well as WLAN initiator Uwe Jens Neumann.
