The fight during the third round of this year’s BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring could not have been more exciting. “We could not even take the shortest rest for the whole of the four hours racing”, said the exhausted Harald Jacksties after the finish. “Everybody was just waiting for the others to make a mistake,” adds Frank Lorenzo. But neither the regular core team in the Inter Racing Seat Leon nor their hardest contenders allowed themselves the slightest error in a race which was marked by many slight accidents and they all completed lap by lap at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife like clockwork.

So a very close but fair fight between the works Scirocco of VW Motorsport, the Audi A3 of Raeder Motorsport and the so far double winner in this season, the Seat Leon of Inter Racing, started from the very first lap. These fast three teams which are completely equipped with ATS motor sport wheels were quickly able to pull away from the other competitors in their class of two litres turbo engines and thus made it clear that the class winner would always be decided amongst these three.

Whilst the technically superior works Scirocco had gained a little advantage by the second half of the race, the Inter Racing Seat and the Raeder A3 were in a permanent, hard fight. The two rivals finally were separated by the very small difference of only 15 seconds. “Under consideration of our clear disadvantage in weight with the Seat, we are totally happy with our result. With regard to the championship, it was in addition much more important not to take too big risks and to bring a safe result home”, was the summary of the experienced Inter Racing Seat drivers. And this safe strategy finally also resulted in the brilliant triple success for ATS.
