Dupré/Nett celebrated their third successive class win in the tv14 Honda Civic Cup of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. There were 35.000 spectators on the grandstands around the GP Circuit and in the forests around the Nordschleife.
In beautiful May weather, Dupré / Nett were initially able to defend their pole position gained in practice but the Honda VLN Junior Team with drivers Nägele / Nägele / Scheerbarth set the fastest lap time of the year (9,56.698) in the third race lap and moved ahead. There was a good fight between Totz / Kreuer and the ladies team Schmid / Wassertheurer / Müllenmeister about third place going on at that time. The good performance of the juniors, though, resulted in an increase of fuel consumption, they lost much time due to a lack of fuel and Dupré / Nett pulled away. The battle about place two was very tight but the Junior Team of the UAS of Cologne finally just made it with an advance of three seconds only.
Into fourth position then followed the ladies team Schmid / Wassertheurer / Müllenmeister who set an excellent third fastest lap time, both in practice and in the race. The Mathol-Civic driven by Dr Schäfer / Eichner / Imholz finished fifth whereas the second Mathol-Honda had to retire with technical problems.
With their third successive victory, Dupré / Nett could further increase their advance in the tv14 Honda Civic Cup and moved up into second overall position of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring.
There was a change in the lead of the Honda Sport Pokal: Venn / Hoppe and Weber / Bermes were not able to start due to clutch and engine problems respectively. Schmersal / Koslowski in the race & events-S2000 missed the class victory by two tenth of a second only but went into the lead of the Sport-Pokal classification. Kuhlmann / Janebzky / Heitmann secured seventh place in class SP3 in their Civic, ahead of Platz / Hörter / Schmitz in the Cardiff-S2000. Dupré / Jahn achieved sixth place in class V4 with an older Accord Type-R.
