A number of legendary competition touring cars will return to the ‘Green Hell’ during the 51st ADAC ACAS H&R Cup, the third round of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. More than 30 former DTM cars will race again at the Nürburgring Nordschleife during the touring car revival organised by the ACAS Schwelm.

The spectacular race cars of Alfa Romeo, BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Opel, Rover and Volvo caused a lot of excitement at the Nürburgring already during the 24 Hour Race in the eightieth and ninetieth when the DTM had championship races at this most difficult race track of the world.

The touring car revival will start already on Friday, 1st May, with test sessions at the short connection of the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit. In the afternoon, there will be a big autograph signing session with former DTM stars such as Altfried Heger, Peter Oberndorfer, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Frank Schmickler, Armin Hahne, Harald Grohs, Jürgen Feucht, Jörg van Ommen and Frank Biela. All of the classical touring cars will also be presented on the exhibition space in the paddocks of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. In addition to the vehicles with racing history, two DTM studies made by Ford and Opel but which were never used for racing will also be displayed.

The highlight of the touring car revival is a parade which will bring back the former DTM race cars onto the Nürburgring Nordschleife on Saturday between 10 and 11 o’clock. The cars which are now mainly in private possession will partly be driven by the original race drivers. A golden opportunity not to be missed by any Nürburgring fan.

The start to the third round of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring will then be given after the parade. With an exciting competition, this last race before the 24 Hour Race will then on its part make history…
