Bonk-motorsport has pulled a big rabbit out of its hat for the second round of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. With immediate effect, Mario Merten / Wolf Silvester will drive a Bonk-BMW M3 in class V5. Team director Michael Bonk thus wants to move the quick driver duo into the direction of the championship victory as, regarding the number of starters, class V5 with currently about 15 cars is much stronger than class V2. The Bonk team so hopes to fight successfully for the championship victory.
In relation to the model range, the newly prepared Bonk-BMW M3 driven by the successful drivers Mario Merten / Wolf Silvester is identical in construction compared to the V2 model which was used by Merten / Silvester in the first race already. And with this model range of the BMW 3 series, the Bonk-motorsport team has already gained much experience in the preparation and development since many years. Merten / Silvester take part with the aim to successfully gain the championship 2009 as team director Michael Bonk informs. This also clearly sets the target in class V5 for the next round at the Nordschleife: “We must finish in the top”, explains team director Michael Bonk before his departure to the Nürburgring.
