The day of decisions is approaching

This coming Saturday, October 11th, the season finale of the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is scheduled. The 1st Sportwarte Trophy will determine several decisions in the various NLS classifications. Even though the new champions are practically decided – Nick Wüstenhagen and last year’s champion Ranko Mijatovic are unassailable in the lead with the FK Performance Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 – the four-hour race still offers plenty of excitement. Tickets start at €25 at VLN.de/tickets. Youths up to 14 years of age are admitted free of charge. Those unable to attend can follow the race day via the free live stream on VLN.de.

Nick Wüstenhagen und Vorjahreschampion Ranko Mijatovic liegen mit dem BMW M4 GT4 von FK Performance Motorsport uneinholbar an der Spitze

With nine wins in nine races, Wüstenhagen and Mijatovic have delivered a strong performance in the 2025 season. Tim Scheerbarth and Arne Hoffmeister, who drive the Mühlner Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 Cup alongside David Jahn, can still equal the FK Performance Motorsport duo in terms of points. However, in the event of a tie, different rules apply, which would put Scheerbarth and Hoffmeister at a disadvantage, as their discarded results include two second-place finishes and one sixth-place finish.

Even though he’s no longer necessary to win the championship, Wüstenhagen and Mijatovic, who drive the BMW M4 GT4 alongside Reinhold Renger, naturally want to end the season with a fitting victory. But the competition shouldn’t be underestimated. After clinching the ADAC GT4 Germany championship last weekend at the Hockenheimring, Jay Mo Härtling will make a guest appearance in the NLS alongside Kenneth Heyer and Tim Neuser in the Mercedes-AMG GT4 fielded by SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm. Influencers ‘Jimmy Broadbent,’ Steve Brown, and ‘Follow @mgcharoudin,’ will also be back in the lineup after a two-race break, alongside veteran Manuel Metzger in the BMW M4 GT4 fielded by Team BILSTEIN by BLACK FALCON.

The overall victory will be decided by the two Porsche 911 GT3 Rs from Falken Motorsports. The Butzbach-based team has already claimed four victories this season. In the NLS Speed Trophy – the classification for top cars – the 911 with starting number #3 leads the #4 by 16 points. 38 points are still up for grabs. Nico Menzel is entered in both cars for the finale. He will share the #3 with Joel Sturm, and the #4 with Dorian Boccolacci. The opponents in the GT3 SP9 class are once again the two Ford Mustang GT3s of the Haupt Racing Team. Frank Stippler and Vincent Kolb have recently shown an upward trend, taking one win and one third place in the beefy muscle car. Patrick Assenheimer, Dennis Fetzer, and DTM driver Fabio Scherer will share driving duties in the sister car. Fetzer and Scherer recently finished second behind Max Verstappen and Chris Lullham in the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Emil Frey Racing.

The NLS Junior Trophy is hotly contested. Noah Nagelsdiek leads Harley Haughton by just one point. Nagelsdiek will be competing alongside Tobias Müller and Carlos Rivas in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of LOSCH Motorsport by BLACK FALCON, while Haughton will be competing alongside Heiko Eichenberg in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS of SRS Team Sorg Rennsport.

Cup 2 and Cup 3 overall standings in the PETN still up for grabs before the finale

Things are also looking exciting in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring. The titles are still up for grabs in both classes – Cup 2 for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and Cup 3 for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS. In Cup 2, the battle will be between Mühlner Motorsport and LOSCH Motorsport by BLACK FALCON. In Cup 3, W&S Motorsport and Schmickler Performance powered by Ravenol will primarily be battling for the title. SRS Team Sorg Rennsport still has a theoretical chance of finishing at the top. The driver standings in both classes are also up for grabs. The 2025 PETN Champions will also be crowned.
