Technical trio completes the management of VLN Sport GmbH & Co. KG

The management team of VLN Sport GmbH & Co. KG is complete again. After Mike Jäger as Managing Director and Christian Vormann as Head of Sport, the technical staff has now also been reassigned: Wolf von Barby, Mario Hermani and Sebastian Schuricht will act as the technical trio of the Nürburgring Endurance Series with immediate effect.

All of the three have already been working for the NLS as scrutineers for years. In future, von Barby, Hermani and Schuricht will also be responsible for the technical regulations and they will be available to the teams as contact persons for technical questions. “I am pleased that we have now also found the last piece of the puzzle,” says Jäger. “Wolf, Mario and Sebastian stand out above all because they know very well the complex environment of the Nürburgring Endurance Series and the wide-ranging field of competitors. In addition, they all have a technical background and will bring their expertise to VLN Sport GmbH & Co. KG even more than before.

Von Barby, Hermani and Schuricht will act as an equal trio – each of them has his own area of expertise. The 41-year-old von Barby’s main job is Programme Manager Hybrid DCT at the automotive supplier Magna. In the VLN technical trio, he is now responsible for the VLN Specials classes. Hermani (54) is a motor vehicle expert at TÜV Hessen and also performs this job for the DMSB. In the NLS, the VLN production cars are his area of expertise. Schuricht (44) is a qualified master craftsman in automotive engineering and bodywork. In future, he will be responsible for the Cup classes. In addition to the NLS, all of the three have extensive experience in other racing series.

The preparation of the Technical Regulations for the 2023 season is already well advanced. Among other things, proposals from the participants of the VLN customer survey in September and individual discussions as well as input from the Interessengemeinschaft Langstrecke Nürburgring (ILN) have been incorporated. Subject to approval of the DMSB, publication is still planned for this year in order to give the teams planning reliability for their preparations at an early stage.
