3.5 hours of racing before the 4th candle

Bucket seat instead of Christmas market, steering wheel instead of mulled wine – this is the motto for the Saturday of the fourth Advent weekend. Race two of the Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series presented by Goodyear will start on 17 December. A few days before Christmas, the NIMEX 3.5h race is one of the last events of the year. The participants want to conclude the year 2022 with a good result. The action in the four classes of the popular digital Nordschleife championship will be correspondingly exciting. The hot racing action will be delivered to the home screen by the LEGO Technic livestream at vln.de from 11:30 a.m. – the perfect contrast to the snow and ice on the doorstep.

The season opener of the DNLS was a foretaste of what awaits the fans of virtual racing at the second race of the winter season 22/23 as well. The race win between Dörr Motorsport and Walkenhorst Motorsport was only decided in the final minutes of the opening race. A few seconds separated the protagonists when Alexi Elomaa lost control of his BMW M4 GT3 shortly before the Brünnchen and missed out on what he thought was an almost certain victory. This time, even more concentration is required because the race distance is 30 minutes longer. This not only offers the fans a significant plus in terms of action, but also provides the teams with new opportunities to achieve success through a perfect strategy.

The competition was tight at the H&R 3h Race. Calculated on the fastest lap in the race, the fastest and slowest vehicle in the SP9 class were separated by just 7.366 seconds. Leading laps were collected by the winners, Dörr Esports (5), Walkenhorst Motorsport (13) and the AMG teams HRT by Unicorns of Love (5), WilliamsEsports (1) and URANO eSports (1).

At the NIMEX 3.5h race, the two teams MJR eSports and SimScene Racing will make a guest start each. The latter will be supported by Real driver Yves Volte, who won the KTM X-BOW CUP in the NLS 2022 together with Felix von der Laden and Georg Griesemann.

In the Cup 2 class, a number of virtual offshoots of the real NLS teams will fight for the day’s victory. Race one was won by Team75 Bernhard by SimRC ahead of PhoenixRacing eSports and Leipert eSports. Other well-known team names include KKRämer Racing Esports, Peter Bonk Per4mance and W&S e-Motorsport.

In SP10, junior teams from Dörr Esports and Walkenhorst are represented, among others. They will meet renowned sim racers from CoRe SimRacing, BS-COMPETITION, URANO eSports and Team RSO. BCMC Motorsport and the Downforce Racing Team will be making guest starts.

The Hyundai Elantra N TC celebrated a good debut in the DNLS. The fastest race lap of the touring car from South Korea at the opening round was 8:41.659 minutes. This means that the Simracers in the SP3T lost only three laps to the leaders over the distance of three hours. SimRC $DNLS currently leads the standings, ahead of Impulse Racing and Puresim Esports.

The free practice of the NIMEX 3.5h race will take place from 09:00 to 11:05. The timed practice will be split into two parts. From 11:40 to 12:20, the Cup 2, SP10 and SP3T classes will fight for grid positions. The SP9 will complete the time chase from 12:30 to 12:45. The race will start at 13:00 in four starting groups.
