Free tyre contingent in the TCR class will be significantly increased

The VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG has taken the requests and suggestions of its customers to heart. In cooperation with Alexander Kühn, Motorsport Product Manager Goodyear Dunlop Tires Germany GmbH, a viable solution has been developed for the TCR class, which should result in stronger numbers of participants. The good news is that the contingent of free tyres for the teams participating in the TCR class in the Nürburgring Endurance Series will be significantly increased.

More precisely, this means: Each registered team or competitor who has registered in the TCR class will receive a free race tyre from Goodyear at the start of each race. A condition is the start in qualifying. If the team makes it to the finish, an additional race tyre will be supplied. Each team can thus theoretically receive 18 free race tyres per season. The costs for the second tyre per race will be borne by the VLN VV. The teams do therefore not have any higher costs for their tyres than the teams of class SP3T, despite the tyre exclusivity. The savings are up to 5,670 Euro per car.

“I would like to thank Alex Kühn. Goodyear is investing a considerable additional amount of money to help us strengthen our TCR class. If you assume an average of seven to eight starters, the number of free tyres supplied by Goodyear alone has doubled. With a hopefully larger field of participants, the number will even increase accordingly,” says Christian Stephani, Managing Director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG.

The TCR teams will compete exclusively with two different Goodyear slick tyres and rain tyres in the dimension 265/660 R18 at the legendary Nordschleife.
