Will Dörr beat the Williams duo at the top?

The motorsport season will start a few days after the turn of the year with its first highlight. The Schütz Messtechnik 3h Race on 7 January 2023 is the third of five heats of the virtual Nordschleife Championship – half-time in the Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series presented by Goodyear. From 12:15 a.m., the LEGO Technic livestream at vln.de will deliver the thrilling racing action to your home screen.

In the SP9 class, the virtual battle of three German premium car manufacturers will be going on. Both pole positions in the 22/23 season went to Sami-Matti Trogen in the BMW M4 GT3 of Walkenhorst Motorsport. The victory in the season opener was taken by Moritz Löhner and Lucas U. Müller in the Porsche 911 GT3 R from Dörr Esports. The winners of race two were Will Tregurtha and Vasilios Beletsiotis in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 from Williams Esports Razer. In the standings, Tregurtha and Beletsiotis are in first place with equal points ahead of their team-mates Marcel Marchewicz and Alessandro Bico. The Dörr duo is only one point behind in third place. Walkenhorst is similarly close in fourth place with only four points difference to the top.

For the Schütz Messtechnik 3h Race, Marchewicz, who is unable to attend, will be replaced by Marek Böckmann. The two Austrians Markus Fischer and Christian Stöckl will make a guest start in SP9 together with the German Michael Besuch. The trio will be driving the BMW M4 GT3 of RC Carshop eSports.

In the Cup 2 class, some well-known teams are currently in the lead of the standings: Team75 Bernhard by SimRC holds first place ahead of PhoenixRacing eSport. Leipert eSports and Peter Bonk Per4mance follow in third and fourth place. The two first-placed teams have shared the victories amongst each other, in addition to each taking a second place, and are therefore currently tied on points. The Team75 Bernhard by SimRC will once again receive support from guest starters René Osterkamp and Steffen Hermann who will start the race in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of the team around Le Mans winner Timo Bernhard.

Constantin Tscharf still contested the season opener alone in the Mercedes-AMG GT4. With Dylan B Scrivens from Great Britain at his side, URANO Esports scored its first triumph in race two and went into the lead in the SP10 standings. BS+COMPETITION from Munich took the victory in the opening round with the BMW M4 GT4 and then a third place in race two, which means that they are currently second in the rankings with a gap of three points behind. With another success, Australian Josh Anderson and German Felix Quirmbach could bring the championship lead back to the Bavarian capital at the Schütz Messtechnik 3h Race.

The teams SimRC and Heusinkveld with the Hyundai Elantra N TC are the main protagonists in the SP3T. One victory each goes to the account of both teams. Corentin Guinez and Kieran Harrison added a second place in race two and thus lead the table. In the team Heusinkveld, Fabian Siegmann will again be supported by Stefan Schella who already joined him at the season opener. He contested race two as a solo driver.

The free practice of the Schütz Messtechnik 3h Race will take place from 9 to 11:05 am. The timed practice will be divided into two parts. From 11:40 to 12:20, the Cup 2, SP10 and SP3T classes will fight for grid positions. The SP9 will contest the session from 12:30 to 12:45. The race will start at 1 p.m. in four starting groups.
