Dunlop „Art Car“ to make their debut

Dunlop and Walkenhorst Motorsport will compete in the motorsport season 2015 with a BMW Z4 GT3 „Art Car“. The race livery for the 500 HP strong eight-cylinder race car was designed by Jean Pierre Kraemer, known from the German TV show ‘PS Profi’ and resident in the Ruhr area. About 28,000 motorsport fans were invited to opt via Facebook for one of three concepts and the decision was finally taken in favour of the modern design in the colours of Dunlop. The yellow, black and red “Art Car” will make its debut this Saturday, 28th March 2015, when it will start its first race at the Nürburgring. Walkenhorst Motorsport will enter the BMW Z4 GT3 in the VLN endurance racing championship and at the 24h Race at the Nürburgring.

“The idea to transform our Z4 in an Art Car has inspired us from the very beginning and the car has become a real eye-catcher. The design is very dynamic and matches our rookie Jesse Krohn of the BMW Junior Programme perfectly who will drive the GT3”, says team owner Henry Walkenhorst. “Whoever misses to look at this car, whoever does not take picture of it, whoever does not appreciate it, has no love for cars”, adds Jean Pierre Kraemer.

The “Art Car” will run on the latest generation of Dunlop GT3 racing tyres, for the first time produced in the German Dunlop plant at Hanau. “We have completed a lot of tests in the winter break and developed five GT3 tyre specifications for all kind of weather conditions. With the new treat patterns and mixtures, we are now well prepared for the Nordschleife and are looking forward to the start of the season”, says Alexander Kühn, Head of Dunlop Motorsport.
