The home game for the team of Raceunion Teichmann Racing powered by SIMFY music, the 45th Adenauer ADAC Simfy Trophy, was the perfect preparation for the 24h Race. Both the SIMFY music-Porsche of Markus Palttala, Dominik Brinkmann and Felipe Fernández Laser and the worldpeace-Porsche of Alex Autumn, Kris Cools and Jochen Schäfer showed an excellent performance and finished the race in the top 3 of their class.
The excellent mood within the complete RTR team throughout the complete weekend was set by the main sponsor SIMFY music.
A bench mark was set in the morning qualifying by Felipe Fernández in gaining pole position in the class CUP 2 for Porsche Carrera Cup vehicles.
The SIMFY music Porsche, though, lost its lead quickly on the first kilometres of the race and close battles characterized the further running of this fourth round of the season.
For start number 122, it was however of utmost importance to finish safely and to collect some more test kilometres before the 24h Race. So the RTR crew came to terms with their third place in the class and finished in this position when the race was stopped.
The team in the SP7 sister car, the worldpeace Porsche driven by Alex Autumn, Kris Cools and Jochen Schäfer, comprised for the first time Autumn from Berlin who was also the start driver. Even though Autumn has a comprehensive experience in RCN and in rallying, he had so far never before competed in a VLN race. He nevertheless did a great job right from the beginning. In his stint, he was furthermore able to gain several positions before he changed to Jochen Schäfer who continued to move up and gained more places in their class and in the overall classification. The worldpeace driver trio was in fourth position when the race was stopped and they were finally classified third in their class.
„To be the start driver in particular here, amongst more than 200 further race cars which take the opportunity for this final test before the 24h Race, this was a really cool experience. You never have enough eyes in your head in the start-up phase of the race. That was a quick lesson today and I was able to gain extremely important experience for our 24h participation in four weeks’ time. To finish in such a good position amongst all those drivers who know the Ring and the Nordschleife like the back of their hands is simply brilliant. Green hell – see you soon again!” said Alex Autumn after his successful stint.
Two third places for Raceunion Teichmann Racing – everyone in the team was happy but after the race also means before the race and with a perfect preparation, the team from Adenau near the Nürburgring will try their very best to repeat their last year’s successful result at the race twice around the clock.
