During its participation in the VLN season 2011, the team of Werner Sport will promote a new charity project for young people. In co-operation with the non-profit association “Jugend gegen Aids” (young people against aids) based in Hamburg, pupils and student have designed a Seat Supercopa in order to transport and present the message of the association far beyond the city limits of Hamburg. They are hereby committed to provocative and polarising advertising campaigns in order to address in particular young people regarding this very important item.

In the selection of the drivers, the two team managers Klaus Werner and Michael Budde also rely on young people. In addition to 19 years old Kim Hauschild, the SP3T race car will be driven by Jean-Marie Rathje (27 years) und Marcel Belka (20 years) at the ten rounds of the VLN series and at the 24 Hour Race.

The car is currently prepared from the body and modified in many technical details. “We are carrying out extensive modifications in particular regarding the aerodynamics and the engine performance in order to be on the top level in SP3T which has enormously increased”, informs team manager Klaus Werner. Furthermore, they fitted a suspension system from KW who have confirmed their active support for this project.

“I cannot imagine a better field of activity for our project than the VLN as there is no other race series which attracts any such big attention. I am particularly proud that we receive such a big support and attention”, says Michael Budde. In addition to the Seat, the team from Hannover will also enter a BMW 130GTR and a Porsche 997 Cup in the series.
