The VLN has reacted onto the very special circumstances at the 50th ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen last weekend, as in addition to the race itself, the quarter final soccer match between Argentina and Germany at 4 p.m. was a matter of particular interest of fans and participants. “The advanced start time of the race for well-known reasons was very much appreciated by everybody”, says VLN Managing Director Robert Rust.
On time for the kick-off in Capetown, about 1.000 spectators gathered on the ring°boulevard in order to follow the international match on the ring°wall, the biggest multitouch-LED-screen of the world. Despite the awful heat, the spirits after the fantastic victory of the German National Team continued to run high at the following prizegiving ceremony for the VLN race. For the second half of the season, the prizegiving ceremonies will then continue to take place as usual in the Eifel-Stadl, the big discotheque in the Eifel village ‘Green Hell’ – and at the 30th RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen even open-air as the successful drivers will then be honoured during the big VLN summer party.
