Eckhard Geulen (Bonn/ Germany), Uwe Kolb (Bad Homburg/ Germany) and Christoph Koslowski (Wuppertal/ Germany) created another chapter in the success story of the team race&event. The trio finished the fourth race of the VLN-Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring in their Porsche 911 GT3 into 32nd overall position and into place ten of the Porsche-Cup class. This was the 27th result in the top ten at their 35th start for the racing team from Radevormwald/ Germany.
“The conditions today were not easy and I must pay a really big compliment to all of the three drivers”, said team manager Martin Mohr after the race. “There were many accidents and the conditions in the final part of the race had become very difficult due to the rain. We do not have a single scratch on our car and Uwe was even able to considerably improve his personal fastest time in the Porsche.”
The basis for the success was provided by Chris Koslowski. “Again, the preparation of the car was super and it was running perfectly, yet I had no fee lap actually. There was always an accident on the track so that I had to slow down.”
Uwe Kolb took over the steering wheel and he, too, left the cockpit overjoyed eight laps later. “I improved my time by 35 seconds compared to last time. It was really great fun.”
Eckhard Geulen then secured the excellent result. “There was some rain from my very first lap, not so much at the beginning but later it became worse. The free practice in contrast was perfect: warm asphalt, much grip … Well, let’s hope for next time.”
The proper race&event spearhead, the BMW Z4 M-Coupé, was this time not brought to the Nürburgring. Stephan Rösler was tied up with business and Heinz Schmersal was celebrating his wife’s birthday. Martin Mohr: “For the next VLN round on 3rd July, both cars will be back again at the start.”
