The pilot scheme at the last race of the endurance racing championship to give access to the official prizegiving ceremony for all the spectators turned out to be a full success. The happy faces of the fans, of the participants and of the organisers caused a spontaneous decision. “Prizegiving will continue to take place at the ‘Eifel-Stadl’ – there is no way back”, informs the managing director of the endurance racing championship, Robert Rust. “It was of course our plan to organise the prizegiving ceremonies of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring 2010 regularly in the discotheque of the Eifel village ‘Green Hell’. This perfect start now caused us to react still in the current season. The positive feedback from all parts confirms our decision.”
The great expert of the Nordschleife, race driver Hans-Joachim Stuck, happily commented the decision on the stage when he received a cup for his third place at this eighth round of the season: “Wonderful that the fans are admitted to the prizegiving ceremony. I hope that in future we will be able to celebrate our success more often here.” Edzard Andres Platz, the managing director of the Eifel village ‘Green Hell’, too, was pleasantly surprised by the event. “We had wonderful guests that evening, a splendid prizegiving and a fantastic party afterwards. Our expectations were exceeded.”
The fans of this most popular endurance racing series in Europe may now look forward to finish off the evening together with their stars on each Saturday after the race. And the contact to the racing drivers will be even closer in future. Whilst at the first event of this kind the spectators had been admitted to the gallery only, already from the oncoming ninth round on, everybody will have access to the parquet floor.
The ‘Eifel Stadl’ will be opened on 17th of October at 4:30 p.m., the official prizegiving ceremony will start at 6:00 p.m. The winners of the 33rd DMV 250.Meilen-Rennen will then be celebrated after the race running over four hours. The race will start at 12 o’clock and the timed practice will take place as usual between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
