At the eighth round of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring, the series organiser VLN will start a pilot scheme. On 3rd of October, the prizegiving ceremony of the 41st ADAC Barbarossapreis race will for the first time take place in the Eifel-Stadl, the disco adventure in the Eifel village “Green hell”. The organising MSC Sinzig and the series organiser VLN will not only welcome the successful drivers to this ceremony, but all the spectators are cordially invited to celebrate this event together with the winners of the various classes.

“The official prizegiving ceremonies usually took place at the Media Center in Race Control Tower, virtually to the exclusion of the public”, explains VLN Managing Director Robert Rust. “The closeness to the fans is one of our most essential concerns in the endurance racing championship. It is hence a logical step to use the possibilities now available at the new Nürburgring so as to open the prizegiving ceremony for everyone. Apart from the open paddocks, the fans will therefore have another possibility to get pretty close to the stars of our series.”

The Eifel-Stadl will be open from late Saturday afternoon, at 04:30 p.m. – entrance is free of course. The time of waiting until the beginning of the official part will be bridged with an autograph session including the top drivers of the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. The ceremony itself will then start at about 06:00 p.m. Apart from the presentation by circuit speaker Lars Gutsche, the entertainment programme will include clips shown on the big video screens as well as a lottery with high-quality prizes – amongst others a ride in a race car and a racing tyre signed by all the honoured drivers. Subsequent to the official part, things will really take off on the dance floor of the Eifel-Stadl. Both participants and fans will have the opportunity to finish off the evening together.

The new format of the pilot scheme does hereby not affect the prizegiving immediately following the race itself. The top three teams and the group winners will as usual be honoured on the podium after the 4 hours race distance of the 41st ADAC Barbarossapreis, including the spraying of champagne.
