ABT to start in the Green Hell with Lamborghini

ABT Sportsline returns to the Nordschleife and takes up one of the greatest motorsport challenges in the NLS and the legendary 24h Race. The team will enter a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 in the Green Hell.

“We are very happy about this new motorsport partnership. Lamborghini is a great brand full of history and passion for motorsport and sports cars,” says Thomas Biermaier, CEO of ABT Sportsline. “We have already experienced many emotional moments on the Nordschleife over the past two decades and now want to start a new chapter together with Lamborghini. The preparations have already begun.” The programme includes test drives as well as the participation in two rounds of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) before the 24-hour Race, with the option of further races in preparation for the 2024 season.

For ABT, it will be the tenth appearance at the classic endurance race. They made their debut in 1999 with an Audi A4 quattro powered by natural gas – the race with the innovative drive concept was a minor sensation at the time. This was followed by competitions with the Abt-Audi TT-R from the DTM, the Audi R8 LMS and the Bentley Continental GT3. The best results were two second places at the 2003 and 2009 editions. ABT last competed on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2017.
