The BMW M2 CS Racing Cup which is part of the Nürburgring Endurance Series will in future rely on Goodyear’s black gold. The VLN – as the organisation behind the race series at the Nordschleife – concluded this agreement with the US company’s German representatives in Hanau.
“We are delighted that Goodyear will exclusively equip the BMW M2 CS Racing Cup cars in 2023,” said Michel Pathe, Managing Director of VLN VV GmbH & Co. KG. “We have already been working successfully with the tyre specialist in the TCR and BMW M240i Racing classes and are thus further strengthening this joint path.”
Alexander Kühn, Car Motorsport Product & Operation Manager EMEA at Goodyear, is also positive about the extended partnership: “The BMW M2 CS Racing is a fascinating race car and provides a huge driving pleasure on the Nordschleife. And we want to contribute to this in the 2023 season with our 265/660 R18 racing tyres. We are also happy to support the teams with our Nordschleife expertise.”
In 2023, the BMW M2 CS Racing Cup will be organised directly by the VLN for the second time in a row. The Cup race cars can be run with 365 hp as a Permit B vehicle or with 450 hp as a Permit A vehicle. Thus, the compact sports car from Munich on the one hand offers Nordschleife beginners the opportunity to do their first laps on their way to the ‘big’ DMSB Permit Nordschleife – on the other hand, Nordschleife experts can start with the more powerful version to experience ‘driving pleasure’ in the Green Hell at a higher level.
The new season of the NLS will start on 18 March. One week before, teams and drivers can prepare themselves for the upcoming challenges at the test and set-up days (10-12 March). A total of six races over four hours and three races over six hours are scheduled until October.
