Strong entry at the season opening of the DNLS presented by Goodyear

When drivers from 19 nations, who otherwise in real-life motorsport compete in the ADAC GT Masters, DTM, NLS, ADAC GT4 Germany, DTM Trophy and ETCR, come together to put the virtual pedal to the metal in the off-season period, then the Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series presented by Goodyear will be back at the start. Season 22/23 of the digital Nordschleife championship begins on Saturday, 19 November 2022. The livestream for the H&R 3h race starts with the pre-show at 11:30hrs on www.vln.de. The starting lights will then switch to green at 13:00hrs.

In one race, up to 60 teams can drive eight different vehicles in the racing simulation iRacing. In the top class SP9, there will this year be a choice from amongst BMW M4 GT3, Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO, Mercedes-AMG GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 R. In the GT3 class of the DNLS, drivers from real motorsport are mandatory and this brings together a ‘who is who’ of fast motor racing stars: The newly crowned NLS champion Sindre Setsaas meets Bruno Spengler (ex-DTM and ETCR), Marius Zug (DTM), Adam Christodoulou (NLS), Dylan Pereira (Porsche Supercup), Moritz Löhner (DTM Trophy), Marek Böckmann and Marcel Marchewicz (both ADAC GT4 Germany) or the NLS experienced Jochen Krumbach. The teams from real racing are also familiar names. Adrenalin Motorsport, Mercedes-AMG Team HRT, Phoenix Racing, Walkenhorst Motorsport, Dörr Motorsport, Team75 Bernhard and G-Tech Competition will meet the Esports specialists of Williams Racing, MAHLE Racing Team or URANO eSports in the DNLS.

The race win is always fiercely contested in the DNLS. However, as in the real-life equivalent, the other classes also provide thrilling motorsport. In Cup 2, which is run with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992), the teams WS Racing, AVIA W&S Motorsport and Peter Bonk Per4mance, familiar from the NLS, join the list alongside some of the teams already named. With absolutely identical material, the focus here is on the drivers. And the performance of the participating simracing professionals is absolutely impressive. They have completed countless laps in the virtual Green Hell and demonstrate a precision and routine that the real racing drivers can hardly match. Exciting duels at the absolute limit are part of the programme and provide first-class entertainment.

There is a new addition in the GT4 class SP10. Alongside the BMW M4 GT4, the Mercedes-AMG GT4 will also compete this year. Last year’s champions from CoRe SimRacing will race with a star on their radiator grille. In the SP3T, Hyundai Elantra N TC will start for the first time in the 22/23 season. Here, the well-established NLS team Møller Bil Motorsport from Norway will be up against experienced Esports teams.

At the DNLS season opener, a free practice will take place from 9:00 to 11:05hrs. The timed practice will be split into two parts. From 11:40 to 12:20hrs, the Cup 2, SP10 and SP3T classes will fight for grid positions. The SP9 will contest the session from 12:30 to 12:45hrs. The race will start at 13:00hrs in four starting groups.
