We are facing a hot summer

In July, action will go on quickly in the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring. The calendar features three races within only four weeks time. This fascinating series will start with the 50th ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen. With the 33rd RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen – which will also host the big VLN summer party – and the 6h Race, two highlights of the season will right follow in a row. The seventh month in the calendar will thus play a decisive role in European’s most popular endurance racing championship as there will only be three races to go thereafter. From round to round, the championship is getting more and more exciting.

The first half of the season will be concluded with the jubilee edition of the Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen organised by the Dortmunder Motorsport Club. In the lead of the championship are Mario Merten (Nürburg/ Germany) and Wolf Silvester (Nürnberg/ Germany) with a razor-thin advance of 0.17 points ahead of Elmar Deegener (Stelzenberg/ Germany), Jürgen Wohlfarth (Murrhardt/ Germany) and Christoph Breuer (Nettersheim/ Germany). Into position one of the Junior-Trophy is Carsten Knechtges (Mayen/ Germany) who thus follows in the footsteps of Christer Jöns (Ingelheim/ Germany) in the Team Black Falcon. The team from Kelberg has won the Junior title in the past two years. Knechtgees, together with Alexander Böhm (Kelberg/ Germany) and Philipp Leisen (Irrel/ Germany), is leading in the classification of the VLN series production car Cup. The list of overall winners in the previous four races is very balanced: Each of the Porsche teams of Manthey and of Mamerow has scored two wins.

All members of the VLN family should note a very important date in good time: The big VLN summer party 2010 will take place on 17th July during the sixth championship round. Things will really be taking off at the Eifel village ‘Green Hell’ during the Nürburgring Performance Days, after the 33rd RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen. High quality show acts such as Rage star and regular VLN participant Victor Smolski will enjoy the guests with their music. All spectators, participants, marshals and officials of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring are cordially invited.
